Qaid e Tanhai (Urdu: قید تنہائی) is a famous Urdu novel written by Pakistan’s most famous novelist Umera Ahmed. It was first published in 2011 by Ilm-o-Irfan publishers.

Umera Ahmed (Urdu: عمیرہ احمد) is one of the most widely-read and popular Urdu fiction novelist and screenplay writer of this era. Her initial stories were published in monthly Urdu digests and later came out in the form of books. She has written about 16 books, comprising of complete novels and compilations of short stories. However, it was her novel “Peer-e-Kaamil (S.A.W.W)” which became her identity.
Qaid-e-Tanhai (English: Prison of Isolation) is the story of a couple, Moiz, and Aisha, who despite being in love with one another and happily married, have to split due to economic pressures which in result turns their lives upside down.
